Kazi Mahmood Karim has recently been promoted as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. Prior to the promotion he was serving as Senior Executive Vice President since 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience from a distinguished banking career that began in 1989 at the erstwhile BCCI (O) Ltd. in Dhaka, as a Probationary Officer.

Before his tenure at AIB PLC, Kazi Mahmood Karim held various positions at Eastern Bank, Southeast Bank, and Prime Bank, as well as at Prime Exchange Co. Ltd. in Singapore. This diverse experience spans both head office and branch operations, contributing to his extensive 35-year background in the banking sector.

In addition to his practical experience, Kazi Mahmood Karim has undergone numerous trainings in banking and finance. He has also participated in various seminars, workshops, and symposiums, both domestically and internationally, further enhancing his expertise.

Kazi Mahmood Karim completed his SSC and HSC from Mirzapur Cadet College. He subsequently earned both his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) and Master of Social Science (MSS) degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka. Mr. Karim’s promotion reflects both his extensive experience and his commitment towards the development of the Bank.
