Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited has opened 174th branch at Shahjalal Uposhahar of Sylhet on 12 September, 2019. Director of the Bank Mohammed Emadur Rahman inaugurated the new branch as Chief Guest. Md. Oliur Rahman Vice Chairman of Al-Haramain Group and Kafilur Rahman Director of Al-Haramain Hospital were present as special guests. Managing Director and CEO Farman R Chowdhury presided over the ceremony. Deputy Managing Director Shabbir Ahmed was present in the occasion.

The occasion was addressed by Maolana Abdul Kadir Director of AL-Falah Syndicate, Mahbubul Alom Milon Proprietors of Bandu Library. Senior Vice President and Head of AIBL Sylhet Zone Md. Fazlur Rahman Ashrafi delivered the welcome speech.

The ceremony was organized by Executive Vice President Engr. Md. Habib Ullah and Vice President Jalal Ahmed. Maolana Asad Uddin Imam of Baitul Najad Jame Mosque conducted dua mahfil after the ceremony. A large number of local people and well-wishers were present in the inauguration. Manager of the branch Md. Khabbab Chowdhury thanked the audience.

AIBL Director Mohammed Emadur Rahman said in his speech, Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. was established not for making profit by doing business but for the welfare of society. He invited all to have the blessings of Islamic banking services in the new branch. He also said, Islamic banking system can boost-up the economy of the country.
